ISO14001 certification

Mitsubishi Corporation Unimetals Ltd. was certified under ISO 14001 (environmental management system, assessed and registered) on November 30, 2000 for its head office.
We are currently expanding the scope to the Osaka Branch and Higashiogishima Logistics Center, and these activities have been incorporated as a part of our ordinary business flow.


Mitsubishi Corporation Unimetals Ltd. has formulated and published Environmental Policy (Basic Principles and Corporate Conduct).

Basic Principles

As a medium-sized trading company poised for expansion and growth in the 21st century, Mitsubishi Corporation Unimetals Ltd. believes that
"care for the global environment is a precondition to corporate viability."
Based on this realization, we endeavor to conserve the global environment and to promote sustainable development in all of our corporate activities. We also work to pass down a better global environment to the next generation.

Corporate Conduct

Adherence to environmental laws and ordinances
We adhere to all international treaties and conventions, as well as the environmental laws, ordinances and regulations of the countries and communities in which we do business.

Effective utilization of resources and energy, and contributions to recycling-oriented societies

Enhancement and improvement of environmental management systems
As mandated in the Environmental Policy, we set environmental goals and objectives that are both technically and economically feasible, and engage in a process of constant review to make continual improvements in our environmental management. We also perform regular internal environmental audits to maintain and improve the effectiveness of our environmental management systems.

Notification and publication of Environmental Policy
We engage in educational and training activities for all employees so that they know and understand the Environmental Policy and act accordingly. We also publish our environmental guidelines to outside the company.
